The definition
Addressed by one person (the drawer) to another (the drawee), signed by the person giving it, requiring the person to whom it is addressed (the drawee, who when he signs, es the acceptor) to pay on demand, or at a fixed or determinable future, a sum certain in money, to or to the order of a specified person, or the bearer (the payee). (Bill of Exchange Act, 1882 of the UK)
汇票是由一个人签发给另一个人的无条件书面命令,要求受票人见票时或于未来某一规定的或可以确定的时间,将一定金额的款项支付给某一特定的人或其指定的人或持票人。
Acts of a bill of exchange (汇票的票据行为)

Issuance –出票人签发汇票并交付给收款人的行为
Presentment –提示是持票人将汇票提交付款人要求承兑或付款的行为
Acceptance –指付款人在持票人向其提示远期汇票时,在汇票上签名,承诺于汇票到期时付款的行为
Payment –付款人在汇票到期日,向提示汇票的合法持票人足额付款
Endorsement –指汇票的持票人在汇票的背面签上自己的名字,或再加上受让人的名字,并把汇票交给受让人的行为
